20 Mar

Along with a slice of this cake on my 30th birthday, I would like to spend a long weekend at the Saguaro Palm Springs with you all, please. Does anyone else have the Nyan Cat song in their  head all of a sudden?

Custom Made

This amazing illustration by an artist named Pat Perry reminds me that this house-building project of ours has been pretty much all consuming, but awesome. While Hubbers works on it every day, with the help of some other highly talented menfolk, I clock in my hours on the weekends. Next steps: installing tile and choosing paint colors.

You can see a few more panels from Pat Perry here, but I suggest clicking through to his portfolio site. It’s all good.

The Science of Saint Pat

17 Mar

Can’t think of a better way to begin a Saturday than with this cheerfully biological jig about beer…and drinking beer. Have a green weekend!

I scream

Can we talk about how delicious I think this ice cream looks? Or am I just weird? Maybe it is just because I love the color grey, or because I am a big fan of intermingling sweet and savory (chocolate covered pretzels!) but black sesame ice cream is officially on my very short list of things to make when I finally choose what color KitchenAid mixer to buy for our new kitchen.

FYI: The dessert in the photo is soy based, for lac-tards and vegans alike.

Look Ma, No Hands

15 Mar

Take a look, just in case you recently said to yourself, “I can’t” when you thought about overcoming an obstacle.

I would be honored to have one of these wooden stools in my home.

Paper Safe

File this one under “Kind Of Wacky Things I Woud Do If I Won The Lottery And Never Had To Work Another Day In My Life”

Keep the change, you filthy animal

13 Mar

Although, no one I know would have change left over if they bought this slice of Hollywood history.

More Dancing

12 Mar

I hope you all had this much fun over the weekend. And then won a prize.

These Hubble photos remind me of Pearl Jam’s Binaural, of course, but they also serve as a reminder that the universe is really, really weird and awesomely bigger than a lot of people take the time to think about.

This is how I feel

10 Mar

when I wake up and it is Saturday.

And don’t even try to tell me you only watch it once.
